One of the most important things we can do to kick off a successful project is to clearly define the vision for the end state that will exist upon completion of the project. This end state is the vision for the way things are to be upon successful completion of the project. This end vision should appeal to all aspects of the purpose for the project.
One of the most important parts of this end state vision is the emotional aspect. Those who see this project as a solution to some problem should have a clear picture of what it is like to have that problem eliminated or mitigated as a result of the project. I am currently working on a project plan fro implementing technical specifications across many large programs. The desired end state is not only that all programs are in compliance with the technical specifications but that the programs are coordinated with one another that their development and execution is easier and that there is reduced costs at the end of any development cycle.

While the above has both a technical and emotional appeal, it also acknowledges that there must be something in it for each stakeholder, thus the desired end state for project should contain clear benefits that will make all stakeholders feel good. Stakeholders need to be motivated to achieve the desired end state for the project.
In conclusion, it is very important to paint a crystal clear picture of the desired end state for the project. This represents the “product of the project” which maybe highly tangible but may also not in all likelihood it would contain both tangible an emotional elements which can help propel the project to a successful conclusion.

Good point.
I think that a clear communication plan, which will clearly defined the points the customer can review the plan and also set the meetings process with the customer, will create the right atmosphere in this direction.
